Cultural Anthropologist

and Travel Writer

You might be wondering who wants to take you to Cyprus!

Hi there! My name is Monique Skidmore. I’m a cultural anthropologist with a passion for ruins and beaches – and preferably ruins perched above beaches! (And I like beach bars too…)

I spend a couple of months in Cyprus every year and have for many years now. I can’t describe what keeps drawing me back – but it just does!

My curiosity and experiences of conducting immersive fieldwork (I’m an anthropologist) have led me on an incredible journey across continents.

I’ve fostered an expertise that goes beyond tourism and in Take Me To Cyprus I love to share my experiences and the experiences of my local team that will make you fall in love with the beauty and the mystery of this ancient country.

I studied mythology and religion during my anthropology degrees and I have published academic articles on these topics. You can’t blame me for being attracted to the astonishing richness of ancient Cypriot cultures – I love the history of this Mediterranean crossroads of North Africa, the Middle East, and Europe.

So while we’re exploring homemade honey and ceramics made in little villages tucked away in the mountains, we’ll also be sailing some of the bluest waters in the world, and washing up at ancient sites, beach bars, and deserted beaches.

So let me and my local team take you to Cyprus and have the holiday(s) of a lifetime!
